It’s Mango Season! Learn how to make flavorful, low-sugar Rapoza Mango Jam and Chutney with Monkeypod Jam founder and Master Preserver, Aletha Thomas. We will begin with a jam tasting and discussion before moving along into the preserving process. Safe and easy canning techniques will be taught to help demystify the art of canning and make it approachable for all. At the end of class, everyone will leave with two jars of mango preserves.
At Monkepod Jam they preserve not only the abundance of fruits and vegetables, but also the community and heritage of our island. Provisions by Monkeypod Workshops are offered to our local community and island visitors looking to experience the various methods used to preserve the bounty of Kauai’s agriculture. Each Provisions Workshop focuses on seasonal items, using a variety of methods of preservation.
