Kayak in the Hule'ia National Wildlife Refugee ~ Kayakers of all Ages and Abilities Welcome

Kauai is home to the only navigable rivers in the Hawaiian islands.  River Kayaking is a popular sport with locals and tourists alike. Kauai’s Hule’ia River is a hidden gem tucked under the Hau’pu Mountains.  Kayak through the Hule’ia National Wildlife Refugee past the Menehune Fish Pond recognizes this beautiful setting from Jurrasic Park and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Paddle downhill on the gentle Hule‘ia River. Enjoy the beauty and solitude. You will tie up your kayaks and take a short hike through lush jungle trails & fern-covered valleys to waterfalls & secluded swimming pools.  Take a plunge from the rope swing into the deep mountain pool!  Heading back you will relax taking a ride down the river on a motorized canoe. Fun and adventure for everyone without a lot of work!

  3. Patti says:

Will dock 8:30 am on Radiance of the seas in May 2019 at the cruise pier. Do we have time to catch the 9:30 am tour? How do we get to your location from the cruise ship and then how do we get back to the cruise ship? How far are you from the cruise pier? Has there ever been issues getting back in time? Thanks so much !

    1. Kaya— Kauai Activity Specialist says:

Aloha Patti, Mahalo for booking with us! For future customers I wanted to answer your questions live here on the site. This is a great tour for cruise ship passengers as you just have a short 5-7 minute walk to your check in location from the port. These tours run on time daily. Have a wonderful time here on Kauai!

  4. Desiree says:

I noticed you operate on Saturdays. I thought groups were restricted to mon-
    Friday only.
