Join us for a Kauai wildlife hiking tour along an undeveloped coastline teeming with wildlife. Hiking this pristine stretch of undeveloped coastline will give you a sense of what ancient Kauai might have felt like, long before tourists left their footprints in the sand. It is in this natural setting that you will have a good chance of seeing the endangered Hawaiian monk seal. You may also see honu (green sea turtles) basking in the sand and migratory seabirds, such as mōlī (Laysan albatross), ʻiwa (great frigatebird), and red-footed boobies soaring overhead.
Kauai wildlife hike hugs the rugged coast, taking you over beaches and rocky shorelines for about two miles before reaching a rocky promontory with epic views in both directions. As you study this unspoiled terrain for shells, you’ll also have the opportunity to pick up “marine debris,” washed up from far-flung parts of the world (trash bags provided).
PRICING BELOW IS FOR 1-4 PEOPLE FOR A PRIVATE TOUR, JUST YOUR GROUP AND THE HIKING GUIDE.
EACH ADDITIONAL PERSON AFTER 4 WILL INCUR AN ADDITIONAL COST ALSO LISTED BELOW.
Linger in this serene setting for another hour, while some or all of your group go snorkeling. This option will add about two hours to the tour time due to time in the water, driving time, and fitting snorkel gear in the morning.
Kauai Hiking Tours will provide extra water, bug spray, sunblock, and specialized hiking safety equipment as appropriate for current trail and weather conditions. For most tours guests are expected to wear appropriate outdoor attire and bring basics such as a day pack, hiking shoes, water, etc.
A detailed, tour specific, gear list will be emailed upon booking. Equipment needs depend on the tour booked. Within 24 hours of purchasing your tour, a trip-specific list of recommended equipment, aka “gear list,” will be included in your confirmation email. If you don’t have something on the gear list, don’t worry! Let us know, we will find a way to make it work with a stockpile of “lender gear”.
